Two new tapes, as promised/hyped, now available...

 

   Il Rovescio Del Giardino "Extracts From Dying Circumstance" (c50)
   Letterfounder meets Ragged Lines "Book Club Beatz" (c28)

Just one more tape release left to put out: a monster of a split (c76) between Star Turbine and Miguel A. García & Valentina Vuksic - due out in a few weeks. A Beard of Snails feels its work is (almost) done as far as the tape format (not particularly more popular than the CD-R format) is concerned. It has been an interesting challenge.

My previously mentioned Metaphysical Circuits label will continue to issue tapes (though largely avoiding the free improv, drone, noise, acid folk and weird rock A B of S has felt privileged to present plenty of to you the past six years.) Over the next month and a half, Metaphysical Circuits should have six or so new titles available, loosely file-able under "lo-fi electronica," "paranormal synth werx," and "ambient psych"...

But I digress! Going forward, A B of S will focus on scraping the necessary funds together to finally make our long-delayed vinyl and lathe cut releases a reality. Your orders are helping me attain this!




Just an update to say... "no updates yet!"

Specifically, no orders will be shipped out until after May 20. If all goes well, tapes from Il Rovescio Del Giardino and Letterfounder meets Ragged Lines will be out on or around 520, duuudes/'ettes.




Three new titles have unhatched!

Alas, they can't ship 'til after Easter (April 2nd.) Just gotta grind it out, eh?

The nows and the futures

Up next (in the next... week or two), the label's final two tapes: a Letterfounder meets Ragged Lines c28 and an Il Rovescio del Giardino c50.

If you care about our catalog(ue) number scheme, you'll notice we're already starting on "ABOS4-..." with the Zaklanie 3-inch. Phase IV (like the film, eh?) of A Beard of Snails' existence will be intentionally short-lived, appropriately consisting of just four releases (ie., three more.)

Why only 124, 131, 137, and 144? Those particulars had been skipped or overlooked somewhere between 2007 and 2008 - back when A Beard of Snails was affiliated with The BSBTA Label Group and its shared catalogue number system (veterans may recall there were two other labels under the umbrella.) About time we finally put the unused numbers to use... while, concurrently, working to put the last four Phase III titles out.

Then what? I'll let you know when I know!

Metaphysical Circuits

Yep, the cat's officially out of the bag: the tape label known (only) as Metaphysical Circuits is my doing as well. Check it out if you aren't already familiar; maybe even buy some new tapes from Asio Otus, or Sunny Dunes, or Noseph Janner / Levvels, or... ?
